Turning Backlog Maintenance Into a Funded Plan
Backlog maintenance is a number that frightens boards and funders. Current condition data is how you turn it from a liability into a plan they will back.

The problem with a backlog number
A headline backlog figure, often built from ageing condition reports, tells a board the size of the problem but not what is urgent, what can safely wait, or what happens if it is not funded.
Grade it, locate it, cost it
Current condition data grades every finding on one risk scale, locates it on the asset, and costs it. The backlog stops being a single frightening number and becomes a ranked, costed list you can act on.
Make the funding case defensible
A funder wants to know what the money buys and what the risk is if it is withheld. Dated, evidenced condition data answers both, asset by asset, in a form that holds up to scrutiny.
Keep it current between funding rounds
Re-inspect on a cycle and the case updates against a trend. The next bid is built on this year's evidence, not a report from several years ago.
